1. Introduction

This application was developed by Insanecrimsontid and tehfusion, two software engineers at Realmware and hardened Battlefield veterans. It allows you to play Battlefield 3 in a borderless fullscreen window, allowing you to easily and conveniently Alt+Tab to other applications.

2. Features
------------------------------------------------
Realmware BF3 Borderless is a simple program which gives you control over the window that Battlefield 3 runs in. The main purpose of this is to run Battlefield 3 in a fullscreen window. This has the advantages of both worlds: you get full use of your screen, and the convenience of easily switching to other programs. You may be familiar with this from games such as Left 4 Dead, which natively supports running in a fullscreen window. The following is a list of every feature in the program.
Easy to use
- Automatically detects when the game is running and applies your settings.
- You will be automatically notified about any new updates for BF3 Borderless.
- If you wish, you can leave BF3 Borderless running in the Windows system tray. It will then apply your window settings to Battlefield 3 whenever you run the game.
Customisable
- Resize the game window to any exact size that you want.
- Automatically centre the game on your screen, if you want.
- Apply your settings either automatically or manually.
- Minimise BF3 Borderless to either the taskbar or the system tray.
Improve performance
- Disable Windows Aero to increase performance and reduce stuttering.
- Avoid lag and glitches which occur in standard fullscreen mode.
- Play with AMD Eyefinity or NVIDIA Surround without glitches.
- BF3 Borderless consumes very little system resources.

3. System Requirements

This program has been developed and written for Microsoft's .NET Framework 4.0, and you will therefore need it installed in order to run this application.
Your computer must also meet the following system hardware requirements to run this program. The program may not run, or you may experience decreased performance on computers that do not fulfill these requirements.
Minimum System:
OS: Windows XP (SP2 or later) / Vista / 7
CPU: Pentium III 800 MHz equivalent or greater
RAM: 256 MB or greater
Hard Disk Space: 700MB or greater
Controls: Keyboard, Mouse
Recommended System (refer to minimum requirements above for unlisted items):
OS: Windows Vista / 7
CPU: Core 2 Duo 2 GHz equivalent or greater
RAM: 2048 MB or greater
Video Card: Direct3D compatible video card with newest graphics driver
Note: The program's performance and/or graphical quality may differ according to your computer's hardware and/or video card. Computers with high-performance hardware will provide the best performance.

4. Installation

1. If you have Windows XP, you will first need to make sure that you have updated to Service Pack 2 or later. You can download this using the Windows Update service or the Microsoft Download Center website.
2. If you are installing Realmware BF3 Borderless from the zip archive, and you do not have the .NET Framework 4.0 installed on your computer, then you will need to download and install that. You can get the latest version online from the Microsoft Download Center. If you are installing Realmware BF3 Borderless from the Setup.exe, then it will handle this step for you.
3. If you are installing Realmware BF3 Borderless from the setup exe, simply run the file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the program. If you are installing it from the .zip archive, then you will need to unpack the contents to a directory of your choice.

- Fixes:
- Fixed window appearing in Alt+Tab menu while minimised to tray.
- Fixed a rare crash that could occur while detecting game.
- Fixed bug where error log would not be written after a crash.
- Fixed bug where "About" window could be opened multiple times.
- Fixed bug where window position would not be properly restored.
- Improvements:
- Significantly improved performance while detecting the game.
- Improved the rendering of text when ClearType is disabled.
Version 1.1 (November 23, 2011):
- Features:
- Added a system tray icon with a convenient right-click menu.
- The main window can now be minimised, either to the task bar or system tray.
- Added an option to disable automatic update checking.
- The position of the window is now saved upon exiting and used on the next run.
- Fixes:
- Fixed crash when the game installation path could not be detected.
- Improvements:
- Improved the time taken for the program to load.
- Improved display with the Classic and Windows XP themes.
- Improved the look and feel of the user interface.
- Improved the installer display with non-standard DPI settings.
- The program options are now kept after upgrading to a new version.
Version 1.0 (November 6, 2011):
- First release of the program.
- Automatically detects the game executable.
- Forces the game to run in a borderless window.
- Supports custom resolutions.
- Includes an automatic update checker.
